Colombian footballer Mauricio Mendoza is set to try his luck in Africa,
joining Tunisian giants Étoile Sportive du Sahel. This was announced on
Saturday.
Mendoza, born in Cali in 1981, began his career at Deportes Quindío in 2002. After a stint at América de Cali, the attacker moved to Peru where he went on to represent Universitario and Alianza. In 2008, he returned to Colombia to play for Independiente Medellín. Six months later, he ended up at Millonarios.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Mendoza would leave the capital city club although at the time nothing was said about his future.
Étoile du Sahel are one of the better teams in Africa and won the continent’s Champions League in 2007.
The Tunisians are reportedly spending about 750.000 USD on the player.
