Colombian exports sees impressive growth

Figures revealed by Colombia’s statistics department (DANE) show that the export of traditional products like oil, coal, coffee and ferronickel, generated US$11,9 billion. Colombia had a positive trade balance of a little over US$506 million in the first third of the year.Non-traditional exports like chemicals and clothes also registered a significant increase of 26.2%.Colombia’s main export countries remain the United States, Venezuela, although small Colombian companies continue gaining ground in European countries, mainly in the UK.Trade with neighboring countries like Ecuador and Venezuela, with who Colombia had serious diplomatic rows over the past few months have increased sharply.
