Colombian council member drives drunk, injures 2

A Colombian council member in the central city of Armenia drove drunk on Tuesday night and crashed, leaving two people seriously injured, reported La F.M. Radio.

The accident occurred on the road leading from Armenia to the municipality of Montenegro, another city in the department of Quindio, at the entrance of one of the motels in the area.

Pablo Emilio Valencia, Conservative Party councilor, was traveling in a truck when the vehicle hit two motorcyclists, nearly running them over.

Allegedly Valencia fled the scene of the accident, but was later captured by authorities. His arrest led to an investigation by the Prosecutor General’s Office, which discovered that Valencia had been drinking alcohol prior to driving.
