Colombia’s 45-year old conflict between the State and left-wing
guerrillas can only be solved through negotiations, Secretary General
of the Organization American States (OAS), Jose Miguel Insulza said
Sunday.
According to Insulza, all armed conflicts in Latin America were ended through peace talks and the same should happen in Colombia. The OAS boss added that his organization is “ready to participate” in these negotiations.
“What is not up to us however, is to say at what point these negotiations should begin,” Insulza told a number of representatives from Colombian society.
