Colombian kids used in black market fuel trade

Criminal gangs use Colombian children to sell illegal gasoline said Caracol Television, Monday.

According to the report children between the ages of 12 and 15 are paid $6.75 a day to sell illegal gasoline by the side of the road. The largest areas of operation are in Colombia’s north, close to the Venezuelan border.

The report said the majority of the children come from the Wayuu indigenous community and usually work with the consent of their parents who need to the money.
