According to predictions made by businesspeople in the Industrial Opinion Board Survey, industrial sales for 2012 will grow 9.5% in nominal terms which translates to a real growth of 6.7% in both domestic sales and exports.

The outlook for the Colombian economy in 2012 is positive, and business people predict there will be nominal growth in total export sales of between 9.5% and 10.5%.

This prediction is made in spite of the difficulties on the external front such as the flagging economies and high levels of debt among Euro Zone countries and the United States.

October 2011 registered growth of above 6% in production and sales. For the first three trimesters of the year, from January to September there was 12.3% growth in retail sales, and 42.2% growth in exports.
