Colombian banks fined for excessive commissions on credit card use

Colombian banks were ordered to pay a 15 billion peso (US$7.5 million) fine for charging excessively for the use of ATM machines and commercial services.

According to the watchdog, the banks did not comply with earlier agreements on the allowed cost of their services.

The banks have ten days to inform their clients on the cost of using ATM machines and implement promised measures to protect and serve the Colombian consumer.
