Colombian army destroys FARC hospital

The Colombian army destroyed a FARC hospital hidden in the jungle in the southern Colombian department of Guaviare, authorities announced Thursday.

The hospital was located near the municipality of Miraflores and consisted of sixteen rooms, as well as various huts and an electricity plant.

The FARC constructed the facility in the late 90s, and it was run by the guerrillas who kept former hostage Ingrid Betancourt captive until her rescue in 2008, the army announced.
