Colombian actress Sofia Vergara scoops SAG award

Colombian actress Sofia Vergara’s show Modern Family has won a Screen Actors Guild award for best United States comedy series.

Vergara was also nominated for the Best Actress award, but lost out to Betty White for her performance in sitcom Hot in Cleveland. It’s the fourth time the Colombian beauty has been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild.

Vergara confirmed her place as a Latin superstar last year, gaining a Golden Globe nomination alongside the Screen Actors mentions. Though failing to win the award, she did draw all the attention — after revealing to ABC news that she was going commando.

2011 was a busy year for Vergara with the release of three different films
