Colombia’s ladies tennis team secured their second point in the Fed Cup, with victory over Bolivia Tuesday.
The match-up saw Colombia’s Yuliana Lizarazo and Mariana Duque both take victory, with Lizarazo defeating Nabila Farah [6-3, 7-5], while Duque won [6-1, 6-0] against Noelia Zeballos.
In the doubles match Duque teamed up with Catalina Castaño, winning the match [6-1, 7-5] to secure a comprehensive 3-0 overall victory against the lowest ranked team in the round robin.
The result means that Colombia have won both of their matches in Pool B of Americas Group One with maximum points, after Monday’s victory over Venezuela.
In Tuesdays other match-up, Paraguay defeated tournament hosts Brazil with a 2-1 overall score.
The results leave both Colombia and Paraguay, the two top ranked teams in Pool B, with maximum points as they prepare to face each other Wednesday.
Only the top team of the five in Pool B progresses to face the winner of Pool A, which includes Canada, Chile, Peru and the Bahamas.
The winner of that match-up advances to World Group Two, to be staged in April.
