Colombian Congress wants sex tourism tackled

Colombian Congress wants severe penalties for tourists that look for
sex with minors on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Sex offenders could face
up to 25 years in prison.

The debate currently being held in Bogotá includes the proposal to sentence perpetrators with sentences ranging from 9 to 25 years and the active pursuit of brothels employing minors.

Congress also wants to improve the possibilities for education for minors so less teenagers depend on sex tourism for their daily cost of living.
