Colombia to send 110 soldiers to Afghanistan

Colombia will send 110 soldiers to Afghanistan in March to prepare the
arrival of a larger number of members of the Colombian army that will
help with the removal of landmines in the Asian country.

According to several local media, the sending of the first shift of Colombian military personnel was confirmed by official sources.

The first to be sent to the Asian country are officials who will inspect the conditions in which their colleagues will arrive.

Colombian armed forces will be part of a Spanish-led army and will primarily focus on the removal of landmines in the country that’s been suffering violence by muslim extremists since the U.S. incursion in 2001.
