Colombia ‘to explain peace process’ in major cities worldwide

 

Senate President, Roy Barreras, reportedly said that it is necessary for the world to understand the details of the peace process between the Colombian government and the FARC, and hopes that these meetings will provide a platform for this understanding.

In addition, the intention is also to discuss and explain the Victims and Land Restitution law, which is intended to provide reparations and assistance to victims of Colombia’s internal conflict.

There will also be nine more regional meetings, starting April 18 in Quibdo and ending in Villavicencio in June. Emphasis will be placed on listening to accounts from victims of the conflict at these meetings, Barreras said.
