Colombia Supreme Court starts FARC-politics trial

by Adriaan Alsema June 10, 2008

The computer files are the Prosecution’s most important evidence to try to get Piedad Córdoba, Wilson Boja and Gloria Ínez Ramírez convicted for their alleged ties with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).The Court had earlier sent a letter to the prosecution complaining they had only been sent a selection of the files and demanded to see the full content on the computers. The viability of the computers’ content is disputed not only by the defense, but also by the governments of neighboring countries Venezuela and Ecuador, who say the Colombian government can not prove the computers belonged to ‘Raúl Reyes’.
