British magazine Capital Finance International on Wednesday awarded Colombia the recognition of  having the best stock exchange in Latin America.

According to the publication, the award was part of a program to recognize the best company practices in emerging markets across the world.

“The Colombian Stock Exchange has made itself into a world class exchange market… It is an exchange focused on a wide range of simple, standardized and efficient processes, executed on a secure, trustworthy and friendly platform,” said members of the deciding jury for the magazine.

The magazine also recognized the effectiveness of the Mercado Integrado LatinoAmerica (MILA), an effort to integrate the stock exchanges of Colombia, Chile, and Peru, as another important development in Latin American shares trading.
