Colombia socialite to become European royal

The granddaughter of the late Julio Mario Santo Domingo, founder of one of Colombia’s most powerful economic powerhouses, will marry the son of Monaco’s Princess Caroline, the princess said Wednesday.

According to the princess’ statement, the two will get married next year after having been together for seven years.

The Monaco royal reportedly met Tatiana Santo Domingo while in boarding school in Paris.

Casiraghi, the nephew of Monaco’s ruling sovereign, Prince Albert II, is the second in line to the throne after his mother and the grandchild of Hollywood legend Grace Kelly.

The Santo Domingo family is one of the richest in Colombia, owning ational television station Caracol, a chunk of stocks of beer company SABMiller and formerly owning the country’s biggest airline, Avianca.
