Colombia soccer stars to miss Cameroon friendly

Colombia will be without a host of first-team stars when they face Cameroon in a friendly soccer match on Tuesday, with coach Jose Pekerman giving a chance to some of his fringe players.

Among the absentees will be talisman and two-goal hero Radamel Falcao who was allowed to return to his club Atletico Madrid after his match-winning performance on Friday.

The striker hit two sublime goals to hand Los Cafeteros their third victory on the bounce against Paraguay and mark the half-way point of World Cup qualification with aplomb.

Porto front man James Rodriguez will also not feature while Mario Yepes of AC Milan, Camilo Zuniga of Napoli, and Ateltico Nacional’s Macnelly Torres all return to their clubs.

The match will offer a chance for the likes of young Porto striker Jackson Martinez and Dorlan Pabon of Parma to stake a claim for a first-team spot in the next round of qualification matches.

The game will be held at the Barranquilla Metropolitan Stadium.
