Colombia silently protests against violence against children

Millions of Colombians took a minute of silence Wednesday in protest of
the brutal murder of 11-month-old Luis Santiago Lozano, whose father is
suspected of masterminding the baby’s kidnapping and murder.

According to Caracol Radio, millions of Colombians obeyed the request to protest against the violence against children and took to the streets.

People in all the major cities took protested. With white roses, Colombian flags and their mouths shut they demonstrated their soldarities with the murdered baby and other juvenile victims of violence.

The father of the murdered Luis Santiago admitted his responsibility in the kidnapping and murder of his son during the first preliminary hearing before a local judge.

During the hearing, angry people clashed with security forces when they tried breaking into the building where the suspects were being heard.
