Colombia sees H2 coffee output at about 6M bags

Colombia should produce around 6 million 60-kg bags of coffee in the second half of this year, the country’s coffee federation said on Thursday.

With that level of production, Colombia would reach its 2010 annual target of 10 to 11 million bags and recover from a fall in 2009 after bad weather and a renovation program cut into output.

Colombia, the world’s top producer of high-quality washed arabica, produced around 4.04 million bags in the first half of this year or just below its target of 5.15 million for the period.
