Colombia’s statistics agency said Wednesday the country’s imports have gone up 7.8% in the first ten months of 2012 compared to the same period last year.
According to state statistics agency DANE, Colombia imported products and services worth $48.9 billion between January and October.
The largest provider for the South American country was the United States that was responsible for 23.7% of Colombia’s imports. China delivered 16% of Colombia’s imports followed by Mexico that imported 11.2%.
The DANE attributed the import mainly on a growing manufacturing industry.
