Prosecutors have confiscated $111 million in property belonging to former cartel heads, local media reported Thursday.
68 properties in total have been seized by Colombian authorities as investments of members of the “Norte del Valle” cartel. The properties were held by a network of frontmen on behalf of drug trafficker Wilber Varela, alias “Soap”and Javier Antonio Calle Serna, alias “Comba”., according to local media.
Properties were siezed in the Valle, Quindio, Risaralda, Cordoba and Cundinamarca departments in an operation lasting four years. The assets included a horse farm, haciendas and other businesses.
