Colombia presents San Andres evidence to ICJ

Colombia has handed over documents to the International Court of Justice supporting their claim on the Caribbean islands San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina. Nicaragua says the islands belong to its territory.

Nicaragua and Colombia have been disputing the highly lucrative touristic islands for years.

Managua presented its evidence in 2003 already. Now that Colombia has handed over its supporting documents, teh court can begin considering a ruling.
