Colombia’s National Police commissioner was elected best policeman in the world, President Juan Manuel Santos announced Saturday.
“The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has a well deserved fame of being the best police in the world. So, this police commissioner came here, he is the boss of the police — the general Naranjo of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, to tell us there will be a reunion of all police in the world and that general Naranjo was chosen the best police officer in the world,” Santos said.
“This is very important news and I congratulate general Naranjo. This title is well-deserved. (Congratulations) to his family and his institution,” the president added.
“According to Santos, Naranjo will travel to a global police conference in Canada later this week where he will receive the prize.
