Colombia players cautious ahead of Paraguay clash

The Colombia soccer team will not take their World Cup qualifying match with bottom-of-table Paraguay on Friday lightly, according to two of their players.

Cafeteros go into the clash as firm favorites against a side which lies bottom of the CONEMBOL table with just four points. Paraguay have won only one of their seven qualifying matches thus far and seemingly stand little chance of qualification for Brazil 2014-.

Colombia on the other hand are the in-form team and will go in search of their third win on the bounce when the two teams line up in Barranquilla.

Midfielder Edwin Valencia is, however, wary of the threat Paraguay will pose.

“Paraguay is always complicated. They will come with many new players, and that means they will be motivated to seek victory,” Valencia told El Tiempo.

Meanwhile goalkeeper Farid Mondragon added. “It is a very important game. It will be a hard qualification match against Paraguay.”
