Colombia, Peru and Ecuador start trade talks with EU

Representatives of Colombia, Peru and Ecuador started talks with
representatives of the European Union Monday about pending free trade
agreements.

The Andean diplomats are meeting the representatives of the European community in Bogotá without Bolivia, who suspended negotiations after disagreements with Colombia and Peru on intellectual property.

The ‘Tripartite Commercial Agreement EC-Andean Nations’ would bring
benefits to the three countries in the long term, according to the
high expectations of the South American countries.

Colombia hopes to have its trade agreement with Europe signed before the end of July.
