Colombia lose to Brazil at Under-20 Championship

After losing their opening match in the final round of the South American Under-20 Championship, Colombia also lost their second against Brazil.

The Colombian youngsters had the worst possible start to Thursday’s game as the Brazilians needed just two minutes for Casimiro to open the scoring from close range.

Colombia did attempt to find the equaliser in the remainder of the match but often failed to convert near the Brazilian goal. Instead, Brazil came close in the second half but hit the woodwork.

But the Brazilians did score a second in the 90th minute, in a phase in which Colombia pressurized the opposing defense. Substitute Diego Mauricio did well to direct the ball past goalkeeper Mosquera for 2-0.

Colombia face their next task against Ecuador on Sunday, February 6.
