The rise represents deserved recognition for two brilliant 2014 World Cup qualifying victories against Uruguay and Chile in September.
Jose Pekerman’s men rose to second in the CONEMBOL table with a resounding 4-0 victory over Uruguay and then a 3-1 success in Chile.
Their next qualifying fixture is a home tie with Paraguay on 12 October.
Colombia is now the third highest ranking country from Latin America after Argentina and Uruguay.
