Colombia were beaten 4-1 by Brazil in the Davis Cup, knocking them out of the competition in the second round.
Brazilian number one Thomaz Belluci (world no.45) dispatched Colombian number one Santiago Giraldo (56) in straight sets (6-2, 7-6, 6-2) Sunday.
The victory was Brazil’s third, enough for them to win the series and advance to the World Group stage.
Colombia’s previous victory against Ecuador means they avoid relegation and stay in South America Group 1 for 2013.
