Colombia draw Argentina, Bolivia and Japan in Copa America

Colombia’s national soccer team face what seems to be a doable task in next year’s Copa America, being drawn into Group A with Argentina, Bolivia and Japan.

Colombia, who won the tournament in 2001 but failed to survive the group stage in the most recent edition, begin their 2011 Copa America against special guests Japan on July 2nd. Japan make their second appearance in South American’s most prestigious international competition, and their first since 1999.

The campaign then continues against hosts Argentina on July 7th, a match in which the pressure will undoubtedly be on the Albiceleste outfit.

The third match, and possibly the key game in this group, has Colombia face Bolivia on July 10th.

The best two teams in each of the three groups advance to the quarter finals automatically, as do the best two numbers three.
