Colombia confirms three new AH1N1 cases

Colombia’s Health Minister says three more cases of AH1N1 were
confirmed in the country. Six people are now confirmed to have the flu
that infected more than 5,000 people worldwide.

According to Caracol Noticias, the new cases are sportsmen who had taken part in a sporting event in Miami, Florida in April.

The patients are reported to be in stabile condition and under medical observation.

Social Welfare Ministry’s Public Health director Gilberto Alvarez told Terra Colombia that the illness now slowly seems to be spreading throughout the country. “Because of this, all public health measures must stay in tact and followed strictly, without causing unneccesary panic,” Alvarez added.
