Colombia confirms total of 163 swine flu deaths

Colombian health authorities on Tuesday announced 163 people have died of swine flu in the country so far.

“Until November 30, 3,236 confirmed cases of the pandemic virus, including 163 deaths, were confirmed in Colombia,” the country’s Social Welfare Ministry said in its weekly report.

While the number of reported infections grows steadily, the number of fatalities compared to previous weeks dropped.

The first case of swine flu in Colombia was reported in May.
