Colombian celebrities Shakira, Juanes, Valderrama and Juan Pablo Montoya collaborated at a charity event, auctioning off signatures, to benefit charity organization ‘Give to Colombia’ in Miami.

The famous Colombians signed vintage 100 Colombian peso, sold for between $200 and $3000, and raised over $200,000 for vulnerable people in Colombia.

Some of the celebrities, like singers Juanes and Shakira, presented original pieces of art on the vintage bills. Juanes’ doodled a mustache over independence hero Antionio Nariño. Shakira left her name with a sketch of a kiss. Other celebrities, like former Colombian soccer captain Carlos ‘El Pibe’ Valderrama and former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya, simply left a signature.

Give To Colombia is a US and Colombia based non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status that channels grants, talents and technologies to achieve sustainable and high impact projects to serve vulnerable populations in Colombia.

Popstar Shakira already has her own charitable ‘Pies Descalzos’ foundation (Barefoot foundation), which focuses on building schools in rural Latin America, providing education to over 5,000 children in Colombia alone. Two weeks ago, Shakira performed for the first time since January in New York’s Bryant Square Park.
