Northern Colombia gets ready for Jazz Festival

The international jazz festival, Barranquijazz, held in Colombia’s fourth largest city Barranquilla [northern Colombia] will take place from Wednesday September 4 until Saturday September 7.

The festival, which will be celebrating its 17th year, will feature a variety of high profile jazz music and musicians from across Latin America and the rest of the world.

Organizers described the event as perhaps one of the most important jazz festivals in Colombia and the Caribbean, featuring artists such as Italian jazz clarinet player Gabriele Mirabassi, Brazilian guitarist and singer Rosa Passos and Freddy Cole, brother of legendary Nat King Cole.

Spectators will have the opportunity to experience Latin Jazz  alongside other contemporary jazz movements.
