Colombia arrests 6 soldiers for drug trafficking

Colombia’s prosecutor general’s office announced that six soldiers transported marijuana on a military aircraft.

A judge on Monday granted arrest warrants for soldiers who allegedly were in possession of 55 pounds of marijuana.

Soon after, authorities carried out an operation to capture six soldiers from the 17th Mobile Brigade.

Government officials stated that the soldiers camouflaged the marijuana on an aircraft traveling from Cauca to a military base in Tolemaida.

The soldiers await prosecution in Agua de Dios.
