Colombia and Ecuador will continue talks on the re-establishing of ties than have been broken for more than one and a half years, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries decided Friday.
Colombia’s Foreign Minister Jaime Bermudez and his Ecuadorean counterpart Fander Falconi met in Iipiales, a town on the border of Ecuador and Colombia to discuss how to continue the reparation of their bilateral relation.
The two countries agreed to create work groups on crime and security, border development and sensitive issues that seperately will try to resolbe issues between the two countries.
A Colombian cross-border attack on a FARC camp caused Ecuador to break relations. After the attack the countries refused any attempts to resume relations until September this year when the two Foreign Ministers agreed to start talks.
