Cocaine discovered in Colombian flowers

Colombian authorities discovered 105kgs of cocaine in a shipment of flowers headed to Paris, reported local media Sunday.

Staff at Bogota’s international El Dorado airport became suspicious of a 46 box shipment of flowers that appeared “over-stuffed.” After sniffer dogs tested the packages as positive, authorities opened them and discovered the drugs.

According to authorities this is the largest seized shipment of cocaine disguised as flowers in the last two years.

Colombia is the world’s second largest exporter of flowers.
