Clinton meets Bermudez over military pact

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will meet with Colombian Foreign
Minister Jaime Bermudez on Tuesday to discuss the recently completed military cooperation deal.

According to State Department spokesman Philip Crowley, the Foreign Minister and Secretary of State “will have more to say” about the military deal that has provoked fierce criticism within Latin America.

According to the spokesman, the deal may be closed, but it is not yet signed. “This means there is an agreed text and both parties are revising the draft before signing,” Crowley told the press on Monday.
