Chicó hold América, La Equidad beat Santa Fé

Boyacá Chicó held América de Cali to a 1-1 draw on Saturday, in order
to remain in first place in the Colombian Copa Mustang. The Bogotá
derby between La Equidad and Santa Fé ended in a narrow home victory.

América did score the opening goal against Chicó, through Gustavo Ramos in the 39th minute, but failed to hold on to their lead as Pedro Tavima caused a penalty in the 75th minute and was sent off for the offense. Ever Palacios made no mistake from the spot.

Deportivo Cali moved into second place thanks to a 0-1 win at Quindío. The only goal of the match was scored by Danny Aguilar in the 70th minute.

The capital city clash between La Equidad and Santa Fé, played at El Techo, appeared to be heading for a scoreless result but Wilson Carpintero headed the home side to a dramatic victory in added time.

Both Junior Barranquilla and Real Cartagena will have a chance to join Chicó in first place, when the two sides meet for a true coastal clash on Sunday.
