Caterine Ibarguen reigns and obtains Colombia’s 2nd Olympic gold

Two-time world champion Caterine Ibarguen delivered Colombia its second gold medal at the Olympic Games in Brazil after defeating her adversaries at the triple jump.

Ibarguen jumped 15.17 meters, almost 20 centimeters more than runner up Yulimar Rojas from Venezuela.

Kazachstan’s Olga Rypakova ended third jumping 14.74 meters.

Ibarguen has been the queen of the triple jump for years, having won two World Championships.

During the last Olympic Games in 2012, she won the silver medal in the triple jump.

Colombia’s athletics queen also competes in the high jump and long jump categories.

Her country’s first golden medal at the Rio Olympics was won by wight lifter Oscar Figueroa.
