Cartagena prepares for arrival of 7,400 tourists

Colombia’s main tourism hotspot, Cartagena, is preparing for the arrival of more than 7,400 tourists expected to disembark from four cruise ships on December 26.

The cruise ships are all expected on the same day and are not only delivering the tourists, but also 3,000 crew members.

Cartagena is receiving an increasing amount of tourists, mostly on board cruise ships, as Colombia has invested millions of dollars in improving the perception of security of its tourist destinations and in the restoration of Cartagena’s colonial center.
