Cartagena lose again in Colombian league

Real Cartagena suffered their second defeat in a row, this time to the hands of Deportivo Cali who edge closer to the top four.

Former leaders Cartagena have not been able to impress in recent weeks and this again showed in their home match with Cali.

The only goal in the coastal city was scored by Cali’s Diego Valdes, who converted a penalty in the 57th minute.

Cartagena remain in fifth place while Cali jump to sixth, just one point behind.

In Saturday’s other game, Envigado beat Atletico Nacional 2-1 with Dorlan Pabon scoring both home goals while only Ezequiel Maggiolo finding the net for Nacional.

On Friday, Santa Fe beat Cucuta Deportivo 2-0 to climb from fourth to third place. The goals came from Luis Seijas and Cristian Nazarith.
