Colombian actress Carolina Sabino is in significant legal trouble and allegedly is requesting donations via Facebook.
In 1998, Sabino was involved in a car accident which left the other driver a paraplegic. In 2005 a judge ordered her to pay 345 million pesos (approx. US$175,000) in compensation. Four years later Sabino is yet to do so and has thus been ordered to complete a house arrest and sign an act of commitment to pay.
Ever mindful of the big picture, Sabino’s lawyer will request that she be allowed to leave the house in order to participate in the play in which she is currently involved.
According to website La Fiscalia, Sabino’s Facebook status asks that her 90 friends each donate a generous one million pesos (US$500). She prudently also lists account details for where the money can be deposited (Bancolombia savings account 20245732633 in the name of Yadis Donado, should any kind readers care to contribute to her cause).
To date, Carolina Sabino has appeared in major Colombian television productions such as Final Time, The Lady of Troy, and Zona Rosa, among others. Unfortunately it appears that her flourishing career may be curtailed for a time… darn those pesky court cases!
