Caracol TV and Sony Pictures film 2nd joint production

Caracol Television and Sony Pictures Television this week start to film a 90 episode series which is their second joint production, El Espectador reports.

“Los tiempos de la violencia” (In times of violence) portrays the love affair of Alicia Aragon Benitez (Diana Hoyos), a woman participating in the feminist movment of the 50s and Simon Oviedo (Salvador del Solar), a boxer. Their difficult love unfolds during a time of political struggle and violence.

Brendan Fitzgerald, vice president of Sony Pictures production in Latin America, explained that “the compelling story, the excellent cast and the high quality of the production will attract a wide range of people in the region.”

“Los tiempos de la violencia” will strengthen business ties with Sony Pictures which “will promote more co-productions and new business opportunities to benefit both countries”, Angelica Guerra, vice president of Caracol Television added.

In 2009, the two channels produced “Los caballeros las prefieren brutas”, based on the book by Isabella Santo Domingo.
