Thirty alleged members of a narco-trafficking ring arrested in a raid Thursday by Colombian authorities, aided by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, are currently awaiting trial on charges of drug trafficking and production, according to El Espectador.
The detainees attended court to hear their charges in Bogota on Friday
The arrests took place in a major operation across 10 Colombian departments. It targeted the neo-paramilitary drug trafficking group “Los Urabeños,” and those detained include Mario de Jesus Jimenez Gomez, alias “El Chuzo,” who was wanted for manufacturing, trafficking and transporting drugs.
