America de Cali goalkeeper Julian Viafara was suspended for six months on Tuesday after failing a routine drug test.
Viafara took the test on September 17, and the results came in after Cali defeated Itaqui 2-to-1 in the Colombian soccer championship.
Caracol Radio asserts that many presume the star player had taken medicine, which caused the drug test to come back positive.
The High Division of Colombian Professional Soccer (DIMAYOR) decided to suspend Viafara for six months, preventing him to play the quarter finals for which America de Cali qualified.
