Caldas school refuses girls for being lesbian

The Ombudsman, Gustavo Restrepo Perez, states his action to demand admittance was necessary to show the school they are setting a bad example for the country.According to the official the school even refused the two girls, who are 15 and 17 years old, to attend the same school, but attending classes during different hours of the day. The school’s principal said she would prefer to resign than to admit the girls to her school. After their “coming-out” the two girls were refused their daily education, because of “behavioral problems”. The District Attorney’s office investigated the “behavioral problems” and stated the girls always performed excellently. The girls’ lawyers filed a complaint for discrimination in January, but so far have seen no  response from the Court. The Ombudsman now wants the case to solved rapidly and asked the Minister of Education to intervene, also to avoid similar situation in the future.
