A bus carrying 36 passengers crashed early Tuesday morning in northeast Colombia leaving six dead and 28 injured.
The bus left the city of Bucaramanga in the northeast department of Santander at 8:00 pm Monday to the city of Yopal in the Casanare department. The bus crashed into a ravine at 5:00 am Tuesday.
Six of the 36 passengers are reported dead and 28 were injured in the crash.
Reports from news agencies vary on the cause of the crash. A report by news organization Terra suggests bad weather caused the crash, while a report from Caracol Radio states that passengers told authorities that the brakes on the bus stopped working.
A Boyaca police commander told Caracol Radio that they are continuing an investigation to establish the cause of the accident.
This crash comes just four days after a bus from Bogota to Medellin crashed killing seven people.
