Brother of DMG boss launches Senate bid

Cristian Murcia Guzman, brother of jailed DMG director David Murcia
Guzman, Sunday officially announced he is taking part in the 2010
Congressional election.

Murcia is candidate for Apertura Liberal, a new political party that also supports the former DMG head himself to run for a seat in the Senate.

According to the DMG director’s brother, his aim is to defend the interests of those who lost their money after the government shut down the alleged ponzi scheme and money launderer DMG. Hundreds of thousands, mostly poor Colombians lost their savings in the ordeal.

Murcia now wants his brother’s company to be restarted and seeks an amendment of the country’s laws that would force the State to return all the money to those that invested in the scheme. Millions of dollars of DMG money are still missing.

The brother of the DMG director says his campaign is funded by friends and businesspartners of DMG who also seek the restart of DMG.
