A pipeline that was damaged last week due to a landslide between the cities of Manizales and Cali, leaving thousands without gas, will soon be repaired, officials said Monday.
Vice President of the International Gas Transportation Operative (TGI) Jorge Pineda declared that 95% of the reparation work was completed, and that the pipeline would operate normally on Monday morning.
According to Pineda, harsh weather delayed the reparation considerably – with a total of “70 hours of work without rest” needed to bring back gas to the inhabitants of the region.
The disaster left as many as 20 municipalities of Western Colombia without gas.
