Brazilian club Vitoria signed young Colombian midfielder Javier Reina until the end of the year.
The 20-year-old Reina, a regular in Colombia’s under-20 national
team, was acquired from Brazil’s Cruzeiro, Vitoria said on its website.
Reina
will join another Colombian, starting goalkeeper Julian Viafara, in
Vitoria’s team. Reina played for America de Cali in Colombia before
moving to Cruzeiro in 2008.
Financial details for the transfer were not immediately disclosed.
Vitoria
earlier this year had already signed Chilean defender Nelson Saavedra
on a loan from Uruguay’s Deportivo Palestino. He is also expected to
stay with the Brazilian club at least until December.
Vitoria finished 10th in last year’s Brazilian league, 23 points behind champion Sao Paulo. (Canadian Press)
